The SL Globe Theatre was created to both look good... and to serve several significant purposes:

1. To provide for the SL community an historically accurate replica of the Globe Theatre
2. To serve as a themed stage for productions of historical plays, and other potential theatricals
3. To facilitate a familiar connection between the real world and the virtual world of Second Life
4. To further sLiterary's goal of bringing culture of the literary and arts sort into SL.
5. To show all the skeptics that it is *totally* possible!

However, the events the location fosters extend further significance:

1. The Ina Centaur Production of Hamlet hopes to use this as a test of distance-based play acting... allowing for actors from all over the world to act, true to both their voice and faces, on Second Life.
